At that time, most of the knowledge was treasured by major aristocratic families and could not be easily revealed to others, let alone taught to people who were not members of the family. "Book of Rites: Kingship" records: "The prince ordered teaching, and then learning. The elementary school is on the left of the south of the palace, and the university is on the outskirts. The emperor is called Piyong, and the princes are called Pangong." The "Piyong" here means national education. The prototype of the university, the "Pan Palace" established in the capitals of the princely states, was the local university established in imitation of the Imperial College.

After the emperors of the Han Dynasty continued to increase their numbers, Taixue started with a small number of 50 students under Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, and reached 100 students under the Emperor Zhao of the Han Dynasty. It increased to 200 students under the Emperor Xuan of the Han Dynasty, and exceeded 1,000 students under the Emperor Yuan of the Han Dynasty. Emperor Cheng of the Han Dynasty There were 3,000 people at that time, and the number increased sharply to 10,000 under Wang Mang. By the time of Emperor Zhi of the Eastern Han Dynasty, "study tours increased to more than 30,000 lives."

What does 30,000 students mean? There is basically no difference between the number of students in a university in later generations.

In the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Chen Fan, Li Ying and others opposed the eunuchs' arrogance and gathered a group of imperial students to respond. Therefore, these imperial students also became the targets of the eunuchs' attacks, and many people who were involved with the party members were imprisoned. It is recorded that more than a thousand students from Zhongtai University were arrested and imprisoned by eunuchs, and Taixue was even closed down for a time.

In the later period of Emperor Ling of the Han Dynasty, he rehabilitated those who had been imprisoned by the party. Of course, he reopened the Imperial College and started recruiting students.

Logically speaking, Fei Qian is already a Langguan, so there is no need to take the path of Taixue. However, Cai Yong is an important doctor of Taixue.
